A free songwwild-carrot-10soco-squareriting workshop open to the public will be presented by Wild Carrot for anyone who would like to participate in an interactive workshop. You might be interested if you have ever thought about writing a song, would like a different take on songwriting, or have words or poems that you think could potentially become songs. The experience will be catered to the participants’ interests and questions will help direct the discussion with the award-winning songwriters Pam Temple and Spencer Funk.

Have you ever thought of writing a song?  Want to get a different take on songwriting?  Or maybe you write poetry and wonder if your poems could become songs.  Your questions will help direct the discussion in this interactive workshop with the award-winning songwriters from Wild Carrot.

Through demonstration and group exercises, we will briefly explore:

  • Generating Ideas - things that help jump-start your creativity:
  • What Comes First, Melody or Lyrics?
  • Form & Structure
  • Creating the Rhyme Schemes

Participants will leave with a basic starting point and some additional info for independent practice at home!  Then, join Wild Carrot and their Roots Band for the concert at 8pm!
