Self-defense is a set of awareness, assertiveness, verbal confrontation skills, safety strategies, and physical techniques that enable a person to successfully escape, resist, and survive violent attacks. A good self-defense course provides psychological awareness and verbal skills, not just physical training.
Flowing Grace Dance Studio and Oxford Community Arts Center are collaborating with Tier 2 Defense to provide a Women’s Self Defense Course to our community. Designed specifically for women, this first time class focuses on threat mitigation techniques as well as hand to hand tactics to promote the safety of you and your loved ones. Additional classes will be offered if there is interest. Please wear athletic style clothing.
Founder and President of Tier 2, Chris Cravens's background is in the military, law enforcement, and federal protection. “My training in the Marines, NCIS and Gavin de Becker was strongly tied to not only physical preparedness but also understanding how to mentally overcome adversity,” Cravens says. “Tier 2’s training system has been built around all of our instructors’ resources and experiences.”
