Paint Out – Plein Air Painting Group @ Oxford Community Arts Center
Feb 12 @ 10:30 am – 12:30 pm
Paint Out - Plein Air Painting Group @ Oxford Community Arts Center | Oxford | Ohio | United States

Paint Out - Plein Air Painters of Oxford and surrounding areas, is an informal group meeting at 10:30 am the Second Monday of each month at the Oxford Community Arts Center.  Existing without a board, officers or regular meetings,  Oxford's Paint Out members decide where to paint after meeting up in the OCAC library for a cup of coffee or tea.  During inclement weather, the group may choose to set up and paint on the OCAC porch or other available space within the building.  Membership is open to whoever would like to participate.

En Plein Air or plein air painting, is a phrase borrowed from the French  meaning "open (in full) air" and used to describe the act of painting outdoors, also called French: peinture sur le motif ("painting of the object(s) or what the eye actually sees"), where a painter reproduces the actual visual conditions seen at the time of the painting.

The Gin Game
by D.L. Coburn
directed by Virgil Seger
Feb. 16, 17, 18 and 23, 24, 25

“This winner of the 1978 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, which originally starred Jessica Tandy
and Hume Cronyn and was later revived with Julie Harris and Charles Durning, uses a card game as a metaphor for life. Weller Martin is playing solitaire on the porch of a seedy
nursing home. Enter Fonsia Dorsey, a prim, self-righteous lady. They discover they both dislike the home and enjoy gin rummy, so they begin to play and to reveal intimate details of their lives. What follows is a witty and compelling exploration of love, loss, bitterness, and desire.”
(~Samuel French)

“Perfect [...] A vibrant study on loneliness, disillusion, old age and death yet fiercely funny.” – The Boston Globe
